The three major U.S. stock indexes collectively rose, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.82%, accumulating a 2.42% increase for the week; the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 0.55%, accumulating a 0.38% increase for the week; and the S&P 500 Index rose 0.59%, accumulating a 0.77% increase for the week, with both the Dow Jones and S&P 500 reaching new closing highs for this year. The performance of popular technology stocks varied, with ARM rising nearly 4% to reach a new historical high at closing, Apple and Amazon slightly rising, Intel falling over 2%, and Microsoft falling over 1%. Non-ferrous metals and lithium battery sectors led in terms of gains, with Sunrun rising over11%, Chilean mining chemicals rising over7%, Southern Copper Corporation and Century Aluminum Company rising over6%, and Albemarle Corporation rising over4%. The weight loss drug concept and computer hardware sectors experienced declines, with Pfizer Inc., Dell Technologies Inc., dropping more than5%; among them, Pfizer had its largest decline since December2021,and Eli Lilly And Company as well as Novo Nordisk A/S fell more than1%.
